Chinese Night....Plus......

Have we mentioned that the food here is...a little less than desireable? It ain't good American style home cookin'. So, what do you do when you can't find any American style or satisfying Russian fare? You go Chinese! It wasn't bad, but, who ever heard of a Chinese resaurant that did not have rice or Lo Mein noodles, only smashed potatoes. We have attached a picture of the giant horse in front of the restaurant. We hope that was the only horse of the evening (if you know what we mean?).

We had our visit with the Baby House Director today to discuss donations. We had already come up with an amount we wanted to donate, so that part went ok. It appears they will be using our funds to purchase a much needed kitchen table and equipment. That makes us feel good because we'd like the kids to keep getting food!!! We did get expected, but disappointing news in that we will not get custody of Kyle until 15 days after court. An old law in the Kazakhstan adoption process has magically reappeared after many previous violators have gone safely with their children. Oh, well, what can you do? This means we will be riding the dirt road everyday until at least Aug. 27th. Bummer.

Mommy was able to feed Kyle at our last visit. As you will see, feeding a 9 month old with an adult table spoon is quite a challenge. He did get it all down, then play time with Mommy and Daddy; his favorite part of the day, say the caregivers.
