One last post before leaving Kazakhstan!!!

Tomorrow our internet service gets cut off, so we thought we would send one last post before we begin our journey back to the good ‘ole USA!!! We leave Kokshetau for Almaty on Wednesday and due to arrive back home on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. As I was writing this, Kyle came forward and asked that I allow him an opportunity to address you:

Hello Family and Friends! It has been said that I am the “cutest boy in the world”. This may be, but I have never left Kazakhstan so we’ll see. I also am a little modest and am blushing right now just acknowledging this.

I have heard so much about each of you that an introduction when I return is hardly needed. For 8 ½ months prior to meeting my new Mommy and Daddy I have been confined to 2 rooms with only about 7 friends. We didn’t talk much but they mean a lot to me nonetheless. I have been working on my English with Mommy and Daddy so; don’t get frustrated with me too soon. I will come around. At least this is what Daddy has assured me if I am to have any chance of going to GMU, Go Patriots or UVA, Go Hoos!

As for the previous blog postings about Daddy playing the “Man Card” and not having to change #2’s, we all understand here that it is Daddy’s job to “bring home the bacon”, therefore Mommy’s job to clean it up in the can! Should circumstances arise to alter this plan, I am sure we will all accommodate.

Daddy tells me that I will meet many of you on the baseball field as he helps to coach his Fall Ball team and Mommy promises many walks with friends. I know Mommy and Daddy have many friends so I’ll make my rounds. Please be patient!

As for this Dudley character, I am not sure what to think. I have been promised the ability to have rides on his back so this should help break the ice. I hope so because the way they talk about him is so cool.

Any way, I can’t wait to meet you! See you in the States!

God Bless us all!!!!!!

ps. Could someone make sure the Redskin situation is resolved by the time I return?

I Can't Believe It!!!

I never thought I'd be saying that my husband was like all those funny e-mails going around about DAD'S and diaper changing..... Come on it's just a poopy diaper. Keith has the best gag reflex I have ever seen. As I understand it, I'm suppose to change all poopy diapers as its written some where in the "Man Code Book". I call bullshit (Keith's favorite saying) on this one. Trust me, his day is coming!!!

The weather was pretty nice today so we took advantage of the day for a stroll around town and lunch at the local pizza joint. The pizza is nothing like what we are used to at home but it is appetizing.

Lubya, our housekeeper, loves holding Kyle and he seems to like her too.

Here are several pictures of the day....

Birth Certificate Day!

Today was the last trip to Shchuchinsk! We went without Kyle to go and sign for his birth certificate. Done deal. We have the paper to prove it! We left him in the comfortable care of his first Mommy and Daddy paid babysitter, Lubya. She doubles as a babysitter when she is done working around the cottage here. She is awesome! We asked if she would like to come back to the US with us, but her work here is not done. We signed, held, then passed off the birth certificate to our lawyer, Shiazada. She is going to take it to get Kyle's Visa and Passport so we can leave on Wednesday for Almaty. He is a bit under the weather today, but should be back up and running tomorrow after a good night sleep.

Happy Days!!!

What can I say......Things could not be better!!! We had a meeting this morning with our attorney and we are on schedule for Friday to get Kyle's birth certificate, passport and visa!!! Plus, it looks like we are aslo on schedule to depart here next Wednesday for our stay in Almaty.

Yesterday was an inside day rain, rain, and more rain, however, today looks like it could be a nice and sunny one. Keith and I would like to take Kyle out for a nice long stroll around town.

Not much to do yesterday, so we took a few pointers from Kyle and napped a lot!!!

First Day and Night at the Cottage

<
Wow, This is the greatest thing ever!!! The day went very well and a little off schedule due to the springing from the baby house. We ventured out and had lunch at our translator's mothers restaurant and after Kyle's first stroller ride home we played, laughed and napped! After a long day had by all we fed Kyle and then time for first bath ever. Little back ground here..... The baby house doesn't actually bathe them like we do, they basically rinse them off over a sink with a pot of water.

He HATED the bath, we added a few toys for his bathing pleasure and he was going to have none of that either. After some tears and noise we accomplished bath time. WOW, does he smell great, just like a new baby should!!! We do believe after a few more Kyle will come to appreciate bath time and we will all have some fun with it.

Night Night time went very well, Kyle slept the entire night which we knew he would, his mom on the other hand, woke every two hours or so just to make sure her little one was doing great.

Here are some photo's of our SON!!!

Big News in Shchuchinsk!!!

Well folks, today was an unexpected day. After our 2 hour visit we were met by the caregivers, doctor and director of the "house" with what we came to understand as great news! It was finally time to spring our boy! A full 4 days ahead of our scheduled leave! We didn't know what to do. We did not have our translator with us and could barely understand, but we finally took the hint and quickly took simple Russian instruction and off we went. But, not without a few pictures of the boy saying "Paca Paca" (bye bye) to the director, doctor and his caregivers. Now the only thing left is one last visit up the bumpy road to pick up his birth certificate of Friday and we are set to leave for Almaty as scheduled next Wednesday for a couple days of US Embasy stuff and our return to the states with our newest citizen!!! Kyle was very excited! He was able to ride away from the baby house with the same friend he arrived there with. Thats right. As fate would have it, our friends' boy was delivered to the same baby house on the same day as Kyle. They will now spend their first week of freedom together in the same cottage with their new parents!!! We spared the regular picks of the day to share the happy photo's of freedom!!!

Perfect Day!!!

Wow, what a great day. Sunny, warm and he was full of giggles and smiles today. We spent most of our visit outside soaking up some vitamin D, much needed by all in the Burner household!!!

After our visit we went baby food shopping in the many markets they have here. Pretty funny trying to determine what is what when you can't read Russian or Kazakh. However, we did good and the boy will be fed some really good stuff. They have Heinz here, finally a brand we recognize!!!

See the latest pictures of "Our Pride and Joy"!!!

Sunny day...

Finally the weather has changed so we could go outside for the last couple of days. Kyle likes it outside better. There is not much to do, but more to see than the same old boring room. Mom is feeling better today. Kyle's first visit with both of us in 3 days. Only 4 more visits before we get to spring the boy! We can't wait!!!

First visit without Mom

Well gang, just as I suspected, my Mom must have been out shopping for a present for me today because she didn't make it with Dad. He told me she loves me, but had the same food issue Dad had a couple of days ago, but I know better. She was out buying me a present I'm sure! I can't wait to see what it is. If I'm wrong...Get well soon Mommy.

Hey world...

Hey world, just having a great time with my new parents. I was wondering where Dad was yesterday, Mom said he was sick, I thought he was out buying me a new toy! I was glad to have him back today! I did notice that Mommy had the same look of wanting to buy me a new toy. I hope she doesn't take so long to get it here. I like when they both come. Anyway, they keep saying something special is going to happen in another week. I think I know what it is... We'll see...

First Visit Without Dad.......

Today's visit was without dad as we believe he has a bad case of food poisoning, need I explain, NO.

Kyle and I had a great time but we were wishing dad was with us. We played, laughed and like clock work began to get fussy at 11:00am KAZ time, which is his lunch time and then nap time.

Can't wait for tomorrow's visit. We have 9 more days of visitation and then we should be able to bring him with us to the cottage. WOW, we can't wait and it seems so far off. Hopefully, time will fly!!!

Stay Tuned......

Rainy Rainy Rainy.......

Well, the weather keeps getting worse. It's so cold here and now the wind and rain. Today's drive to and from the baby house was even more of a challenge than usual. Every few moments the windows had to be cleaned due to the fact you couldn't see out of them, no, not just rain, but huge amounts of MUD from the unpaved dirt road. It's funny but the road changes on a daily basis and not for the better I might add.

Kyle was up and waiting in the baby house exerciser today, what a cute site he was. We changed him out of the 5 layers of clothing he was in and in to something else. Did we tell you??? They believe babies should be dressed for extreme cold weather every day need it or not. It felt like 5 minutes to get him out of there clothes only to re-dress him into our outfit and then to add another two layers required by them.

His little face is covered with mosquito bites that attacked the night before. Mosquito's are very bad here and both Keith and I are covered as well.

Check out the Dude of the day (Kyle)!!!

Extreme Weather Change

Yep, it's freezing here and not suppose to get better anytime soon and this is something we are not prepared for. Hopefully, summer weather will return. So, today's visit was done all inside.

They dressed the boy for winter weather. In case you are wondering about Kyle's outfits, most of them are supplied by the baby house not by us. We do occasionally take outfits but have pretty much let them do there thing.
